Dr. Milton Bennett is a director and co-founder of the Intercultural Communication Institute. He is known for his work with the Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity and its measurement, the Intercultural Development Inventory. For twenty-five years, Milton has consulted with corporations on topics of intercultural competence and global leadership in Europe, Asia, and North America. He has developed domestic diversity programs for corporations and universities and participated in major global leadership programs for Motorola, Boeing, Corning, British Aerospace, and Telenor corporations. Milton is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Master of Arts in Intercultural Relations, University of the Pacific, Stockton, California; the graduate program for social work at the University Milano-Bicocca, Italy; the Executive Education programs of the Tuck School of Business of Dartmouth in New Hampshire and Smith College in Massachusetts; and the Boeing Leadership Center. He has written several articles and chapters on the topics of intercultural empathy and the development of intercultural sensitivity. He is the co-author, with Ed Stewart, of the revised edition of American Cultural Patterns, editor of Basic Concepts of Intercultural Communication, and a co-editor of the Handbook of Intercultural Training (3rd ed.). |
