Online IDI Services
Welcome to the new Online IDI format! We are so excited that this service is now available for all Qualified IDI Administrators. We have been rigorously testing and developing the system since June 2005. Based on the different needs of Qualified IDI Administrators, we have made two kinds of Online IDI accounts available.
1. The Pre-Paid Online IDI AccountThe pre-paid account allows you to purchase any number of usernames/passwords and maintain them for an indefinite period. Each username/password allows a user to complete one online IDI. You will be charged at the time of purchase for the total number of IDIs. Each online account has a minimum fee of $50. Any additions of logins after the initial activation will cost a minimum of $50.
We anticipate that there are at least two ways that Qualified IDI Administrators can use the pre-paid account. One is to purchase a specific number of usernames/passwords in the name of a client or employer or in the name of a project. This would be a good option if you anticipate a predictable number of respondents for the IDI administration.
A second way to use the pre-paid account would be to “stockpile” some number of usernames/passwords in the name of your company. You could then use these for any number of clients at any time. This might be a good option if you use only one or two online IDIs at a time. All the usernames would be in the name of your company, so you would need to create new files yourself to distinguish individuals or small groups when necessary.
2. The Research Account
The research account allows you to specify any number of usernames/passwords to be generated. The account will be open for 60 days. At the end of that time, you will be charged only for the number of online IDIs actually used. Any unused usernames/passwords will normally expire at the end of the 60 days. If you wish to keep the account open for an additional 60-day period, a new set-up ($50 fee) and billing cycle will be established, even if the same usernames/passwords are retained.
Each online account has a minimum fee of $50. Any additions of logins after the initial activation will cost a minimum of $50.
We anticipate that Qualified IDI Administrators who are conducting large research projects with a definite administration period and an unpredictable response rate will benefit from the research account. But remember that the account definitely closes and an invoice is generated after 60 days. For longer-term projects such as pre-post testing, two research accounts (and two payments) would usually be needed.
Here are instructions on how Qualified IDI Administrators can open an Online IDI account:
- Please contact ICI and request an Online IDI account. During your first Online IDI purchase we will generate an account with a four-digit client code (for example 0152) that allows you to access your clients’ IDI data at all times with your individualized Qualified IDI Administrator (QA) username and password. After the initial opening of this IDI QA Account, you will need to open a new account for each of your client groups with a minimum purchase of $50. You can request the additional accounts through the Online IDI website www.idiassessment.com. Your accounts will be activated within 48 hours.
- When you open an account for your clients, you will need to consider the following:
- How many IDI instruments are needed?
- What group name do you want to use?
This group name will be used as a part of the username for your group. The four-digit client code for your IDI QA Account (for example 0152) will be added at the beginning of each of your accounts. The group name will define your end-users' username (for example 0152-SCH06Fall). A number will be added to the end to indicate the individual number of the username (for example, if you order 10 IDIs, they will be individualized from 0152-SCH06Fall-1 to 0152-SCH06Fall-10). Individualized passwords will be generated for each end-user.

For all accounts, the cost of each instrument is $10.
- How do you want to pay?
We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and American Express) and checks.
- What email do you want to use for receiving Online IDI information?
- The IDI manager will then set up the account, and email the usernames and passwords to you.
- To administer the Online IDI you will need to distribute the individualized usernames and passwords to each end-user with a customized IDI administration letter.
- The end-users will login to www.idiassessment.com, use their usernames and passwords to log in, complete the assessment, and submit the IDI. The end-users can choose the language that they prefer to take the IDI on the website. It is currently available in Bahasa Indonesia/Malay, Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
- You can access your clients’ IDI data with your individualized Qualified IDI Administrator (QA) username and password. Export the data from the IDI website after the administration process is completed and import the data to your IDI software to complete the analysis. Currently you have to import data to your IDI software through an internal or external A-drive. We are currently re-programming this software to be fully web-based. That upgraded service will be available for purchase by the end of 2008.
