Program Costs
The tuition and fees for the program reflect the general costs of a distance learning graduate program and are comparable to other external programs. The total costs will vary with where you live and what you have completed in transfer credit prior to admission. Costs will include tuition, residency charges for room and food, transportation to residencies, books and materials, and fees at different stages of the program. Financial Aid
Financial assistance is available in many forms. You may use a payment plan, a loan or other personal resources, or tuition reimbursement from you employer. We would be pleased to have the opportunity to explain our program to your employer and its relevance to your work. Tuition and Fees
Tuition for 2009/2010 is $717 per semester credit. At this rate, approximate program costs would be as follows:
- Tuition per semester for core courses: $5,736
- Tuition per year (average): $11,472
- Tuition for program (34 credits; not including 6 semester credits of electives): $24,378*
- Tuition for program if all 40 credits are done through University of the Pacific): $28,680
*In addition, you will need to complete 6 additional semester credits of electives. The cost of electives will depend on what you do and what resources you use. For example, you might use transfer credits completed before or after admission at a local institution or at the Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication (SIIC).
Additional Fees for the program include:
- Application fee: $50 for online application
- Continuing Registration (Grad 200) fee: $50 per semester
- Thesis fee: $100
- Residency costs
- Books
Residency costs will vary with the location of the session. The following information represents a range of possible costs.
- Off-site residency costs are about $500 to $700
- On-site residency costs are about $1,400 to $1,550
- Price depends on location, services offered, and number of students.
A list of books selected for each series of classes will be forwarded to students prior to the beginning of each residency. Students may purchase books from an online service such as Amazon.com or may order them through the Intercultural Communication Institute prior to the residency.
